Biography
SIMONNE YVONNE (VANDAELE) BARTLEY
Simonne Y. Bartley, 88, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010. Simonne was born October 25, 1921 in Oosthieuwkerke, Belgium to John and Emma (Gheldof) Vandaele. Simonne and her family immigrated to the United States in 1928. She married George Bartley on September 22, 1941 in Georgia and he survives. Simonne has lived in Monroe, Michigan and Roscommon, Michigan and most recently Perrysburg, Ohio.
Along with her husband George, Simonne is survived by her daughter, Laurie Thompson; granddaughters, Julie (Mike) Gagle, Lisa (Mike) Cardinal, Denise (Jeff Taylor) Thompson and Leila (Mike) Mongan; great-grandchildren, Danielle Thompson, April and Autumn Cardinal, Aubrianna and Brandon Gagle and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sons, George and Leonard, daughter, Linda McArthur and siblings, Julian, Michael, Julius, Albert and four others who died during World War 1.
Friends will be received from 5-8 P.M. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) Funeral services will be held, Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 11 A.M. at Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church, 13101 Five Point Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 with Pastor John M. Rutz officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
